Christmas in the field with the AGL Team...
It's that time of year again where most companies arrange a night out with a fancy meal and lots of booze. Team AGL do it slightly differently, swapping sparkly dresses and snazzy suits for breeks, tweeds and wellie boots. We do of course still have a delicious meal with a drink or two, but before that we grab our guns and head to our pegs!
The day started with bacon rolls and coffee at The Bell, nestled in the beautiful Cotswold village of Langford. With horrendous rain and a brutal wind outside we were all rather tempted to stay in the cosy pub and spend the day drinking coffee by the fire. However, we managed to muster up the courage, donned our wet weather gear and headed to the first drive.
After some very successful shooting we stopped for elevenses, which were deliciously traditional and included homemade soup, sausage rolls, brownies and of course a small tipple of sloe gin and champagne.
The wind didn't give up and the afternoons birds proved to be a real challenge. The guns ranged from classic English 12-gauge side by sides, to a 16, 28 and even a .410 hammer gun. Everyone shot extremely well and had a number of birds that they were proud of.
After 5 drives it was time to head back to the pub, dry off, warm up and tuck into some good food. A hearty lunch was provided by The Bell, with homemade pie and sticky toffee pudding on the menu.
Atkin Grant & Lang is made up of a team of individuals who have a passion for the countryside and country pursuits. Our Christmas game day is an opportunity to spend some time off together, enjoying the sport that we work so closely with.
