This classic event is one of our firm favourites of the summer and is returning this year bigger and better than ever before!

The British Side By Side Championship & Festival of Gunmaking, in partnership with The Great British Shooting Show and The Hurlingham Club

This event is an epic sporting challenge and celebration of British Gunmaking and game shooting. We are extremely excited to be working with The Great British Shooting Show and The Hurlingham Club to bring you an exceptional event, with the addition of The Hurlingham Cup.

With classes for different gauges from 12 to .410, continental guns and Ladies and Junior categories there is something for everyone.

Everyone is welcome to join us for this fantastic event. In order to be eligible for prizes you must shoot a side by side, but over and unders are welcome on a 'targets only' basis.

The British Side By Side Championship Rules

The British Side By Side Championship:

100 bird English Sporting course designed specifically for side by sides, to include a grouse and high pheasant sequence.

First card 9am, last card 3pm

There will be referees on every stand to button and score. No squads.

The number of entries will be capped so pre-booking is required to confirm your place.

Bookings will open on Tuesday 2^nd July. Call 01582 849382 to enter.

Entry £55.00 • Juniors £45.00 • to include a buffet lunch served from 12pm to 2pm

The Hurlingham Cup:

We are thrilled to be working alongside The Hurlingham Club to bring you The Hurlingham Cup. The 5 bird shoot is inspired by the origins of clay shooting, and will replicate live pigeon shooting with helice style targets. 

The competition will work on a points system: hit with 1^st barrel = 3 points, hit with 2^nd barrel = 1 point, miss = 0 points.

Entry £10. 

Prizes: 500 Lyalvale Express cartridges and a trophy

*In the event of a tie, a shoot off will be held.

Festival of Gunmaking:

We are delighted to once again be inviting a range of exceptionally talented craftsmen to exhibit their work. 

The Festival of Gunmaking will involve a variety of British Gun & Rifle Makers displaying their guns, offering you an opportunity to meet the craftsmen involved and celebrate the true art of gunmaking.

To celebrate the 'Best of British' our craftsmen will also be offering other shooting related items such as gun slips, cartridge bags, bespoke knives and clothing. Who doesn't love a bit of retail therapy? Treat yourself before the start of your shooting season.

There is no charge for the festival, simply turn up and join us. Gun makers will be exhibiting from 9am until the Championship prize giving at roughly 5pm.
